Product details
CARB is a toroidal roller bearing invented by SKF: a single row of long, slightly crowned rollers runs between two toroidal raceways. The bearing self-aligns like a spherical roller bearing when the shaft is misaligned, and allows axial displacement of the shaft within the bearing like a cylindrical roller bearing, with virtually no friction.
CARB is used as the non-locating bearing, combined with a spherical roller bearing in the locating position: the arrangement accommodates thermal expansion of the shaft without inducing additional axial loads, reducing temperature and vibration. Variants with a tapered bore for adapter or withdrawal sleeves and sealed, greased-for-life variants are available.
SKF CARB Toroidal Roller Bearings is manufactured by SKF (Sweden). Dong Tam supplies genuine SKF bearings and technical support in Vietnam.
